My husband and I slept soundly on this latex mattress for 35 years without experiencing any aches or pains as we grew older, and we partially attribute our freedom from medicine and the good health we enjoy to this latex mattress! It wasn’t until about the 33rd year when we noticed that the cover was wearing out and exposing the latex in a few spots, so we simply put it in a zippered mattress cover. This worked well until the 34th year, when we started noticing slight sagging and body indentations. We then began our search to purchase another latex mattress like it. I searched online for the same latex mattress manufacturer, but was disappointed to learn that they had closed their doors. A neighbor suggested we visit a small, local mattress manufacturer in our area whose family had been building mattresses for 3 generations. I wanted to be certain that he could provide the same latex as that of our first latex mattress. I told the owner the name of its manufacturer, and I remember him saying, \"All latex is the same.\" He was wrong! Having purchased three mattresses within a 3-year period, I believe I’m qualified to report: ALL latex is NOT the same!
A large number of latex mattress pads and pillows possess simply one type of hole all the way through and, as a result, the whole latex foam mattress will have a consistent resistance. Several latex mattresses however, are designed featuring separate pieces of latex rubber with different sized holes. This allows the latex bed to hold several regions. For instance, more yielding beneath the shoulders and feet and less yielding beneath the lower body. Or else, many other natural latex beds and mattresses place a pliable latex layer on top of the harder latex interior to furnish the latex bed a more compliant feel. Natural latex mattresses possess a enjoyable bouncy feel plus they are extra relaxing. Latex rubber is a huge step up over old style interior sprung conventional mattresses.
Another trick of the organic mattress trade is to use latex that has sand fillers. Technically, the latex that uses sand fillers is still natural because sand is indeed natural. However, if you are buying a latex mattress, you want 100% natural LATEX. A reputable company manufacturing 100% natural Dunlop latex with no sand fillers is Green Latex. Latex International is the only company making 100% natural Talalay latex and they add no sand fillers to their latex. When shopping for your new organic latex mattress, purchase from a company that buys their latex from these companies and you will know you are getting good latex in your mattress.
You might think now: which mattress is good and what manufacturer can I trust? Selecting the right mattress might seem a hard decision and mattress manufacturers seem to use a lot of complicated language to describe the specifications of the mattresses they produce. By simply knowing a few words that explain the spring or foam technique of a mattress you will understand whether the mattress suits your requirements or not.
When we buy clothes, we do not only chose between trousers or jackets, we also choose the right size and want it to fit well around the body. Just like we would not purchase trousers that are too small or too big, we should also stop buying mattresses that do not suit/fit our bodies. The wide variety of choice of mattresses might confuse people and it is not always that obvious which mattress is the right choice. It is therefor very important that we are aware of our own possible sleeping problems. Once you know what your sleep weaknesses are you can find the perfect mattress. If you do not experience any problems, it is still advisable to purchase a mattress that is healthy for you to help prevent the development of any future problems.
